Kathleen Avins, MMT, MT-BC, LCAT

Sub-contracted Music Therapist
Kathleen has been a practicing music therapist for over 25 years. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in music therapy from Temple University in Philadelphia, and also holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Rutgers University and a post-graduate certificate in vocal psychotherapy from The Music Psychotherapy Center in New York City. Kathleen has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including long-term care, hospice, mental health, and special education.

Sub-contracted lesson instructor:
Drums and guitar
Tom has a Masters of Music degree from Mansfield University. He was an instrumental music teacher for 26 years in the Northern and Southern Tioga School Districts where he taught band instruments and guitar to 100's of local students throughout his teaching career. Tom is currently a full time musician, drummer and performer. He has performed all over the country and is currently taking private students on all instruments.
Davey McEuen

Sub-contracted lesson instructor:
Gutiar and Bass
Davey is versatile guitarist, musician, and teacher with a Bachelor of Music degree in music technology from Mansfield University where he studied classical guitar under Dr. Eric Carlin and Dr. Michael Hardy. He has extensive performing experience as a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist. While he is primarily a classical guitarist, Davey has experience playing a variety of other genres professionally, including jazz, rock, metal, pop, folk, and soul. Davey also plays and teaches bass guitar. He currently teaches at Momentum Music Services in Mansfield, PA.
Laureen Wolgemuth

Sub-contracted lesson instructor: voice and piano
Laureen received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Messiah University and has continued her studies with The Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute of Shenandoah Conservatory at Shenandoah University. She has taught piano and vocal lessons since 2014 in both Pennsylvania and Maryland, currently assists with directing the Hamilton Gibson Youth Choirs, and maintains her own private voice and piano studio.
Jason Gao

Sub-contracted lesson instructor: piano
Jason Gao is a Music Performance and Music Education double major at Commonwealth University - Mansfield studying piano with Dr. Eun-Joo Kwak. Jason plays for multiple select ensembles, including the Wind Ensemble, Concert Choir, and Chamber Singers, accompanies opera rehearsals as a work-study, and regularly collaborates with peers on recital programs. Jason is vice president of Mansfield’s chapter of the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association, a club representative in the Student Government Association, and treasurer of the American Choral Directors Association. Active in the community, Jason plays for services at his church and accompanies choral concerts and musicals throughout the local area, thus far including Athens, Sayre, Williamson, Wellsboro, and Towanda. Notable ventures from this past year include achieving second prize in the Young Artist division of the Music Teachers National Association PA State piano competition last November and studying and performing at the Interharmony International Music Festival in Italy last July.
